KARACHI, Nov 14: The Communist Party of Sindh has criticized the US presence in Pakistani soil and flayed the brutal US attacks on Afghanistan.
The party held a meeting on Tuesday to remember the martyrdom of their famous leader Hasan Nasir and to pay tributes to the valiant soul.
Chacha Mohammad Bux Khaskheli, the party chief in Sindh in his brief presidential discourse while enumerating the most adverse affects of American “terrorism” against the people of Afghanistan, and its fall-out on Pakistan’s society, — economically and politically — asked the political forces to join together to get rid of the imperialists, planting their feet in South Asia.
At the outset, Ahmad Hasan Rizvi who conducted the proceedings spoke on the life and political role of Hasan Nasir, his dedicated efforts to unite and strengthen the working classes in Sindh, organise the workers and haris, and also the students, making it the most vibrant and politically conscious province of Pakistan.
Qaiser Bengali, referring to the prevailing conditions in Pakistan, said the American attack on Afghanistan was meant to acquire access to the old reserves of the central Asia.
The oil reserves of the Middle East were depleting and the Americans knew that it may not last after around 70 years. So the Afghan attack was an ‘oil-war’, the United States vying to win over the region for laying pipe-lines to the Caspian sea and onward.
Qaiser’s views were supported by Prof. Naseer who said, while disapproving Talibans for their extreme views, one cannot help condemning the United States imperialism “the mother of all evils” in modern times.
American economy was trapped in a gave crises and now the imperialists were determined to unleash more such wars against different countries— “60 trouble spots” already pointed out by President Bush” to revitalise their dwindling economy, the Professor said.
Taliban and American imperialists, were both terrorists —“two sides of the same coin”, he added.
Imdad Qazi, another communist leader, dealt with the problems of the working classes and the economic exploitation of the masses, who were already living below the poverty line. He appealed for joint action by the people for their emancipation.
Veteran Communist activist Sami Dad Khan read out a paper on the party’s activism in Sindhi in the past.
