Zaeef abandons embassy


ISLAMABAD, Nov 13: The Taliban’s embassy in Pakistan — their only foreign embassy — closed down on Tuesday after the opposition Northern Alliance troops moved into Kabul.

Ambassador Mulla Abdul Salam Zaeef left his residence in the morning for an unknown location, and later in the day all the embassy’s staff drove away in vans and four-wheel drive vehicles, leaving the building empty.—Reuters
