MANSEHRA, Nov 13: About 30 pending development schemes of the district will be completed under the Social Action Programme (SAP) during the fiscal 2001/2002, official sources told Dawn .
The NWFP government had frozen the allocated amount of over 30 water, sanitation, social welfare, building and housings schemes before the installation of the district government of Mansehra, sources said.
The source said that the frozen amount of Rs55.382 million has been reallocated to district government to complete the pending sachems as early as possible
About 8.55 km road from Narain to Saif-ul-Maluk lake will be constructed from an estimated amount of Rs39.916ms, to promote the tourist industry.
The deaf and dumb centre will be rehabilitated at an estimated amount of Rs0.55m at its old place. The existing Tehsil buildings of the Balakot will be constructed with an estimated amount of Rs6.653ms.
The people of Mansehra city, who are using polluted and unhygienic water, will be provided with clean drinking water from an estimated amount of Rs1.404m. To complete the construction of the remaining portion of the district jail an amount of Rs44.2m has been reallocated and within a couple of days the work on the remaining portion would be initiated.
The improving and widening work on the Baffa Doraya Ichrian road would be completed soon with an estimated amount of Rs11.974m.
The construction work on the Pulra to Darband Road, with an estimated amount of Rs53.226m is about to take place. The work on about 22 other water supply schemes will be initiated very soon throughout the district.
