Lasbela dist Council criticizes bureaucracy

By Our Correspondent

HUB, Nov 13: The Lasbela District Council on Tuesday criticized the role of bureaucracy for not coordinating with the elected representatives and held it responsible for the problems faced by people.

In a meeting presided over by Convener Ibrahim Doda, the council decided to launch an operation against drug dealers, levy tax on the use of Winder-Daam road, approved the district budget for the financial year 2001-02 and constituted committees to remove problems of people.

Executive district officers and SSP Lasbela also attended the meeting and answered the questions of the councilors.

The representatives criticized the role of bureaucracy and police saying that they were not addressing the problems faced by the common men.

They said two months had passed since the EDOs of agriculture and revenue departments had been asked to submit their reports and answer questions raised by the representatives, but they failed to do so.

They were of the view that the bureaucracy and police were increasing the problems for the local bodies’ members .
