No play in Dhaka Test

DHAKA, Nov 11: Continuous rain washed out play on the fourth day of the first Test between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe Sunday.

“We waited until tea time, and finally decided to call off the game for the day,” match referee Hanumant Singh told reporters.

Singh said the play would resume Monday morning if the weather was favourable, but that looks unlikely as the forecast is for more rain.

The persistent rain has flooded the outfield at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

The home side were 125 for three in their second innings at the close of play on Saturday, with Aminul Islam six not out and Mohammad Ashraful yet to score.

Bangladesh need another 199 runs to make Zimbabwe, who scored 431 in their first innings, bat again.—Reuters
