LAHORE, Nov 11: Taimur Mawaz Khan scored four goals to help Ist Law Company register a facile 8 1/2-3 win over Lahore Chatkhara to lift the November Cup Polo tournament title Sunday.
Earlier, in a low-scoring subsidiary final, Gladiators beat Amin & Company 4-3 1/2 to claim the third position.
The final was full of incidents as during the third chukker Taimur’s chaser Shah Shamyl Alam’s stick struck his forehead.
He however opted to play despite bleeding which did not stop even after the medical attention.
Ist Law Company enjoyed half-a-goal advantage on the handicap. Shah Shamyl scored first of his two goals to put Lahore Chatkhara in the lead.
Taimur scored first of his four goals on a field effort in the beginning of the second chukker. Rashid Ali Baig put in his first of the three goals. Young Faisal Ijaz put in the winners’ third goal.
Shamyl reduced the margin scoring on a spot penalty. On his attempt, the ball hit the left post but he took it into possession and scored with a fine hit.
In the third chukker, Taimur took possession near the central-line, dashed towards the goal, only to hit the pole. He however a slammed an angular shot and scored off the rebound.
Taimur scored his third goal to increase Ist Law Company’s lead to 5 1/2-2.
In the fourth chukker, Hasan Raza Gillani scored his only and Lahore Chatkhara’s third and the last goal.
From then on, Ist Law Company dominated the match as Rashid scored two back-to-back goals. Rashid combined with Taimur and Faisal Ijaz brilliantly to score his second and winning team’s sixth goal.
Later Rashid scored with a long shot. Before the final whistle, Taimur scored his fourth and Ist Law Company’s eighth goal.

Amin & Company half-a-goal advantage on the handicap. For Gladiators, Captain Shaukat Malik scored all the goals, including a fine hat trick. Shahid Iqbal struck twice while Mohsin Khosa scored one goal for Amin & Company.
