NAWABSHAH, Nov 11: Deputy opposition leader of the Zila Council and opposition leader of taluka council, Nawabshah, were thrashed by the members of the ruling party in a free for all during the session of the taluka council here on Saturday.

Later at a press conference at the Nawabshah press club members of the opposition alleged that taluka Nazim, Nawabshah, Ali Akbar Jamali and others thrashed their colleagues severely.

They said that when they started discussing corruption in supply of street lights to the city, they were attacked by the ruling party members.

They demanded of the district administration to take strict action against the members of the administration for their failure to take any action against the attackers.

They said: “We will give a strike call if no action was taken against those involved in the attack.”

They said that it was a conspiracy implemented by the ruling party of the council.

When contacted, the taluka Nazim, Ali Akbar Jamali, said that what happened yesterday during the session was sad. He, however, contested the allegations of the opposition .

He added that members of the opposition were being extended maximum cooperation in solution of the problems identified by them.

CRUSHED: A man identified as Sajjad Chandio came under the wheels of a van and instantly died near Moro Bypass on Sunday.

The driver of the van managed to escape.
