Shikarpur accident claims nine lives

SHIKARPUR, Nov 10: Nine people including a woman and a Wapda official were killed and 14 others received serious injuries when a speedy wagon hit a tree near Juneja village on Lakhi-Naudero Road on Saturday.

A Larkana-bound wagon (HD-0334) coming from Sukkur hit a tree on the roadside when a tyre of the wagon burst and it overturned.

Those who died on the spot were identified as Peeral son of Mohammad Murad Mugheri (Larkana), Abdul Rauf son of Allah Bux Jatoi (Pano Aqil), Ms Samina daughter of Allah Bux Jatoi (Pano Aqil), Nasrullah son of Gul Mohammad Soomro (Naun Pind), Wapda revenue officer (Sukkur), Mohammad Akbar son of Abdul Qadir Memon (Sukkur) and an unidentified man.

Three passengers including Mohammad Hashim, Ashiq

Ali, an army man from Faisalabad, and an unidentified boy died on the way to a Larkana hospital.

Fourteen seriously injured including three army men and the wagon driver were admitted to the Madeji Hospital.

They were identified as Lt Altaf Ahmed Saryo (Badah), batman Iftikhar Ahmed (Punjab), batman Zulfiqar Ali Soomro (Larkana), wagon driver Khadim Hussain Shaikh, Amir Bux Abro (Khairpur Mirs), Rehem Ali Leghari (Ghotki), Nasrullah Gopang (Seedoodero, Larkana), Ali Asghar Chachar (Daharki), Nazar Mohammad Kalal (Daharki), Mohammad Ramzan Solangi (Qambar), Samiullah Memon (Therhi), Naseemullah Memon (Therhi), Inayat Chandio (Larkana) and Zahid Hussain Abro (Khairpur Mirs),

Later 10 of them were sent to a Larkana hospital.
