End to air strikes demanded

ABBOTTABAD, Nov 10: The former president of Tehrik-i-Istiqlal, Rehmat Khan Wardug, has demanded immediate stoppage of bombing on innocent Afghans and finding out the political solution of the present crisis in Afghanistan.

This he said while talking to the journalists at meet the press programme arranged by the Abbottabad Press Club on Friday.

Mr Wardug supported the holding of protest rallies and recording of public reaction but he said it should be in a civilised manner and no loss of property and life should be done. He asked the govt to give wide-range of coverage of govt electronic and print media. He backed the President Gen Pervez Musharraf for his policy on Afghan crisis and said that present govt has no alternative but to act accordingly.

While giving the solution of present Afghan crisis, Mr Wardag said Taliban should be given free hand to accept the choice of holding of elections or convening of Loya Jirga with wider range of representation of all groups residing in Afghanistan.

He said the present crisis and the attack on Trade Centre is a great conspiracy of Jewish lobby against Muslims.

He asked the Muslim countries to take joint decision by showing complete unity.
