KARACHI, Nov 9: Sui Gas’ brittle batting was once again exposed Friday when they plummeted from a promising 121 for no loss to 215 for seven in reply to National Bank’s first innings of 263 in the Patron’s Trophy Grade-I tie at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad Friday.
Pace duo Mohammad Sami and the left-armer Zahid Saeed shared six wickets between as Sui Gas lost all seven wickets in the space of 72 runs after Abid Mahmood and Ali Hussain made 78 and 47 respectively, according to details available here.
Sui Gas, who are already relegated into Grade-II championship next season, still need 49 runs for a first innings lead.
Earlier, Sami and skipper Mushtaq Ahmed lifted the champions’ score from 236 for nine overnight to 263 all out. Sami finished unbeaten with a career-best 41 while Mushtaq was run out after scoring 21.
