KASUR, Nov 9: Bus drivers on Friday blocked the Multan Road near Adda Hanjrai for one-and-a-half-hour in protest against the Pattoki City SHO for torturing their companion.

Inspector Nasir Mushtaq was on patrolling when a speeding bus (3611-LXC) of the New Khan going from Shujabad to Lahore passed by him. The SHO went after the bus and after some distance forced it to a halt near Adda Hanjrai. The bus driver, Riasat Ali, reportedly used rough language when asked for overspeeding. On their turn, the SHO, his gunman and driver beat up and injured the driver. He was later admitted to a local hospital.

Soon after the incident, the drivers blocked the Multan Road by parking their buses on it at about 6pm.

On receiving an information, acting Pattoki DSP Muhammad Sadiq Sindhu rushed to the spot and restored the traffic after assuring protesters for the redressal of their grievances.
