WASHINGTON, Nov 8: The Bush administration is readying a trade promotion package of up to $700 million for Pakistan, a key US ally in the war in Afghanistan, officials said on Thursday.
Officials with the US Export-Import Bank said the package, which would range from $400 million to $700m and would help finance US exports of goods and services to Pakistan, could be announced very soon.
Bank spokeswoman Cheryl Crispen said the financing would target Pakistan’s health, education, aviation and oil and gas sectors as well as its general infrastructure.—Reuters
