Saeed’s 112 puts KRL on top
RAWALPINDI, Nov 8: KRL made a cracking start to their Patron’s Trophy Grade-I match against ADBP Thursday with Saeed Anwar Jr striking a century at the KRL Stadium.
Saeed compiled 112 while Misbah-ul-Haq hit 83 as KRL finished the first day of the four-day game in a comfortable position at 294 for five.
Both Saeed and Misbah joined hands for a 127-run fourth wicket partnership to put their side on way to a big total. In his 253-ball knock, Saeed struck 17 fours with Misbah being equally impressive, dispatching 15 hits to the ropes.
Also playing for KRL is controversial fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, who has been reported for a suspect action by umpires at the recent Khaleej Times Trophy in Sharjah, which Pakistan won. He is reported to have said that he was being targeted again just for nothing.
South African match referee Denis Lindsay and umpires George Sharp of England and Rudi Koertzen of South Africa filed the report against Shoaib.
