LAHORE, Nov 8: Shah Shamyl Alam scored eight goals, including a double hat trick, to guide Lahore Chitkhara to an emphatic win by eleven goals to four-and-a-half (11 — 4 1/2) in the November Cup Polo Tournament at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Thursday.
In an earlier match of this tournament, Amin & Company beat Master Paints by six-and-a-half goals to two (6 1/2 — 2).
Travel Quest enjoyed half-a-goal’s advantage on the handicap. As many as six goals were scored in the first chukker and Shah Shamyl Alam scored first five of them in-a-row to put Lahore Chitkhara in a domineering position.
Shamyl’s first three and the fifth one were put in on field efforts. He scored his and team’s fourth goal on a 60 yards penalty-hit. Captain Azhar Ali scored first of his three goals for Travel Quest before end of the first chukker to reduce the margin to 1 1/2 —5.
Shamyl completed his double hat trick by scoring on a 60 yards penalty-hit at beginning of the second chukker. Gillani scored his first goal for the winning Lahore Chitkhara side on a field effort. He added two goals before the second chukker ended. First he scored on a 60 yards penalty-hit and later crowned another field effort. It was Shamyl’s eighth and Lahore Chitkhara’s ninth goal which enhanced the lead to 9—1 1/2.
All goals of the third chukker were scored through field efforts in which Travel Quest performed a little well. Captain Azhar Ali and Shahzad Aziz scored two goals for Travel Quest and in between their goals, Gillani scored his second and Lahore Chitkhara’s tenth goal.
Mir Shoaib Ahmad scored his only goal and Lahore Chitkhara’s 11th goal, crowning a field effort at beginning of the fourth chukker. Captain Azhar Ali scored his third and Travel Quest’s fourth goal on a 60 yards penalty-hit with a lofted shot to reduce the margin to 4 1/2 — 11.

Amin & Company enjoyed half-a-goal’s advantage on the handicap. For Amin & Company, Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana and Mohsin Khosa struck twice, each while Umer Sadik and Shahid Iqbal scored one goal, each. For the losing Master Paints side, Sufi Muhammad Amir scored both the goals.
