KARACHI, Nov 8: The admission committee of the University of Karachi on Thursday announced the merit list for admission to Master’s classes at various departments.
In all 3053 applicants had sought admissions, out of which 2611 were included in the provisional list. Admission fees would be received at counters set up at the main entrance of the university from Nov 12 to 14 between 9.30am and 1pm.
The Director Admission, Prof Mohammad Ishaque, said that 2168 seats were available in the 49 departments of Science, Arts, Islamic Studies and Commerce faculties. To a question, he said that applications for admissions to some departments of the Arts Faculty, including Arabic, Bengali, Geography, General History, Islamic History, Philosophy, Sindhi and Urdu remained far below the number of the available seats.
According to a KU notification, candidates not satisfied with the provisional merit list could file claim on the form available from UBL counter at the Silver Jubilee gate No 1, on payment of Rs200 from Nov 12 to 14.
The closing percentage for admission to different departments in the category “K” are as follows:

There was no application for the Persian department, while only one applicant sought admission to the Bengali department, who has been included in the KU admission list.
