9 states reject deal with Microsoft
WASHINGTON, Nov 6: Nine of the 18 states in the Microsoft antitrust case on Tuesday rejected a settlement accepted by the US Justice Department, clouding prospects for an end to the three-and-half year old case.
The attorney for the states, Brendan Sullivan, told a federal court hearing that half of the states were opposed to the settlement. Microsoft’s lawyer told the court it was opposed to further negotiations with the states.—AFP
