MINGORA, Nov 5: A number of candidates seeking admission to different departments of the Peshawar University have alleged large-scale irregularities in the admission process.
A candidate Akhtar Gul told Dawn on Saturday that despite the fact that he had fulfilled all the pre-requisites, he was denied admission to journalism department. “My first priority was the journalism department as I am a working journalist. However, those who had obtained lesser marks than me were given admission.
The authorities even did not bother to satisfy me about the merit criteria,” he complained. Other candidates also expressed dissatisfaction with the admission process.
