AJK opposition stages walkout

MUZAFFARABAD, Nov 5: The entire opposition and a ruling party member staged token walk out from the AJK assembly here on Monday in protest against the remarks of a minister regarding the two elections won by People’s Party.

It happened when the house was holding an in-depth debate on an adjournment motion tabled by opposition’s Ms Gulzar Fatima, wherein she had accused the present government of retrenching dozens of junior employees from different departments and thus worsening the already prevailing unemployment problem in the state.

During his speach, minister Masood Khalid said Muslim Conference had clinched victory whenever fair polls were held in Azad Kashmir and went on to allege that the polls held in 1975 and 1996 (in which People’s Party emerged as victorious) were rigged.
