ISLAMABAD, Nov 5: President Pervez Musharraf on Monday said Pakistan offered vast potential for foreign entrepreneurs.

The president was talking to Tadao Chino, President of Asian Development Bank, who is currently visiting Pakistan and called on the president here this evening.

The president informed Mr Tadao about various measures initiated by the government for the socio-economic uplift of the country.

He said the government had focused on agriculture production, promotion of information technology, devolution to the grass roots level and the promotion of export oriented industries and that it was proceeding well in all these sectors.

Gen Musharraf outlined the vast potential which Pakistan offered to foreign entrepreneurs, adding that increase of exports were an area of vital concern of the government.

The President stated that due to untiring efforts of the country’s economic team, fiscal discipline had been restored, the policy of deregulation is being implemented, structural reforms have been introduced and the tax base widened.—APP
