KARACHI: Rules for temporary electricity connections
KARACHI, Nov 5: The KESC, in consultation with ABAD, finalized rules for temporary load connections.
Cat 1 - Cases in which Security Deposit/System Development Charges paid and scheme under execution by the builder.
Rule a (1) builder to start work within three months and the scheme will be executed in all respects within the next nine months.
(2) Undertaking will be submitted by the builders and ABAD that possession will not be given unless the scheme is completed. In case of occupied buildings the scheme is to be completed by June 30. Undertaking to be submitted by the builders and ABAD that occupancy will not increase.
Cat 2 - Cases in which SD/SDC paid but scheme not implemented by the builder.
Rule a (1) builders to start work within three months and scheme will be executed in all respects by builders maximum within next nine months.
The KESC will also be obliged to disconnect if observations are made by KBCA on major deviation.
In case of occupied buildings the scheme is to be completed by June 30. Undertaking to be submitted by the builders and ABAD.
Cat (3) - Cases in which SD/SDC issued but not paid by the builder, 25 per cent down payment to be made by the builders. Payment of the balance amount to be allowed in six monthly instalments. In case of occupied building scheme is to be completed by June 30, and remaining to be completed by Dec 31.
Cat (4) - Cases pending due to KESC
Rule (a) All formalities to be completed by KESC within two months and builders will be informed accordingly; 25% down payment to be made by builders within three months of THE issue of estimate by KESC. TLC will be restored immediately after completion of formalities by builders. The scheme to be completed within one year after payment of six monthly instalments.
Rule (I) Builder will submit application for permanent connection for all 214 cases latest by Jan 1.
The KESC will reassess load on present position of buildings as per actual construction on site.—PPI
