KARACHI: KPP projects in Gulshan, Jamshed towns reviewed
KARACHI, Nov 5: DCO Karachi, Shafiqur Rehman Paracha and Brig. Haider Abbas, on Monday, visited the sites of development projects in Gulshan-i-Iqbal and Jamshed towns under the Khushal Pakistan Programme.
The DCO directed the completion of all ongoing KPP projects before Dec 31 this year, and warned that under no conditions would the date of completion be extended.
However, he added that if any project faced hurdles or difficulties, it must be reported at the earliest.
KPP projects worth Rs17.48 million and Rs14.68 million are in progress in Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town and Jamshed Town, respectively.
The DCO, accompanied by Brig. Haider, visited a number of sites, including repair work of the road and central island at Kashmir Road, Lal Mohammad Choudhry Road and Justice Inamullah Road in PECHS blocks 7 and 8.
They also witnessed repair work at University Road and the construction of Faizan-i-Madina Road.
During their visit to the Kashmir Road improvement plan, Mr Paracha was informed that the condition of the road will soon improve and its central islands will be beautified by plants.
The concerned engineer informed that road repair works will be completed by Nov 13. The DCO directed the concerned officers to get coordination with the related officers of Jamshed Town for improving grass and plantations on both sides of Kashmir Road.
Regarding progress of construction work at Faizan-i-Madina Road, Mr Paracha was informed that the total cost of the project is Rs700,000, while the road has been built and its carpeting will be completed within a couple of days.
It was directed to erect a display board at the site detailing the projects completed under the KPP.
The DCO was informed that 46 projects regarding construction and repair of roads, while 33 projects of sewerage works are underway in Gulshan-i-Iqbal and Jamshed towns.—PPI
