LAHORE, Nov 4: Two finals will be held on the opening day of the 51st Quaid-i-Azam national cycling championship starting at the Velodrome near Gaddafi Stadium here from Monday.
Wapda as defending champions will compete in the six-day competition which will conclude on Nov 10. First time, four women teams are also participating in the championship. Wapda, Army, Punjab and NWFP entered their women teams.
One kilometre time trial finals for men and women are two events carded for the opening day. Besides it, qualifying rounds for the 200 metres race and four kilometres team pursuit will also be held on the first day.
Pakistan Sports Board director-general Brig. Saulat Abbas will inaugurate the championship.
Meanwhile, all the eight teams reached Lahore Sunday to take part in the championship.
