Lowari Pass closed due to snowfall
CHITRAL, Nov 4: Due to a heavy snowfall in the Northern Areas for the last two days, the Lowari Pass was closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday.
The Pass, an important road link between Chitral and the rest of the country, has received two feet of snow so far.
Temperature in the area has plunged to zero.
A large number of tourists are stranded on both sides of the Pass because of its closure.
It may be mentioned here that the Pass is closed to traffic in mid-December every year due to snowfall and rain on mountains.
