HYDERABAD, Nov 4: The Ameer Jamaat-i-Islami, Sindh, Advocate Asadullah Bhutto has said that the government could not stem the tide of protest against the US by detaining the party chief, Qazi Hussain Ahmed.
He said this while addressing the newly-elected members of the Sindh Majlis-i-Shoora at the Markaz-i-Tableegh-i-Islam on Sunday.
He said a wheel-jam strike will be observed on Nov 9.
The Majlis-i-Shoora finalized arrangements for the Nov 9 strike and also reviewed the tempo of the anti-American movement.
Mr Bhutto said that President Gen Pervez Musharraf with a begging bowl in his hands was pleading with one country after another to give him money but the allied forces had not only turned their backs on him but had also made him spend millions of rupees on their hospitality.
He said that pro-American policy was very dangerous for Pakistan.
He said that the American bombardment on the poor people of Afghanistan was not only an insult to humanity but it had also exposed the nefarious designs of the US.
He said the US was not against terrorism but against Islam and the Muslim Ummah.
Mr Bhutto said that Bush had thrust “crusade” upon the Muslim world.
He said that the Jihadi organizations had been banned and the religious leaders had been arrested at the instance of the US, and added that while the US would gain nothing out of these measures, it would certainly decide the fate of the Musharraf government which would be even worse than his predecessors.
He said the people will neither accept these restrictions nor will the Jihad come to an end.
He expressed hope that by observing complete strike on Nov 9, the people would prove once and for all that they were against American aggression and the anti-Afghan policies of the government.
Mr Bhutto said that our nuclear installations had been “fully exposed to the US” by giving airports to the American air force.
He said the US had so far spent 150 billion dollars in bombardment against Afghanistan but had totally failed in realising its nefarious designs.
He said the Pakistani rulers were “collaborators” in the massacre of Muslims.
He called upon the members of the party Shoora to perform their due role during the national crisis and inform the people about the correct situation.
The Naib provincial Ameer of the party, Mumtaz Hussain Sehto, and its general secretary, Rashid Naseem, were also present on the occasion.
