LAHORE: Funds for school buildings

LAHORE, Nov 4: A sum of Rs16.2 million has been provided for the rehabilitation of ‘dangerous’ schools buildings throughout the province, an education department spokesman said on Sunday.

The spokesman said that special teams, headed by district education officers, identified the dilapidated buildings of schools throughout the province.

The teams recommended that rehabilitation work should be started on priority basis and the education department provided the required funds to the Nazims of districts concerned.

According to a handout, following are the names of schools with sanctioned special funds for the rehabilitation work in parenthesis:

Government High School, Narowal (Rs6.362 million), Govt High School, Pasrur (Rs2.79 million), Govt High School, Chak No 39, Faisalabad, and Govt High School, Wahndo (Rs 100,000 each), Govt Girls Schools Thatta Musa and Kohar, Gujrat district (Rs270,000 each), Govt Girls High School, 255-JB, Jhang (Rs50,000)

Government Girls High School, Kutcha Khoo, Mian Channu tehsil (Rs300,000),

Govt Girls High School, Karor Lal Eisan (Rs140,000), Govt Girls High School, Alipur, Muzafargarh district (Rs150,000).

Government Pilot School, Multan (Rs300,000), Govt High School, Haram Gate, Multan (Rs1,100,000), MC High School, Arifwala (Rs100,000), Govt High School, Pakpattan (Rs3,687,000), Govt High School, Hassan Abdal (Rs50,000).

MC High School, Gujar Khan (Rs100,000), Govt Girls

High School, Rawalpindi (Rs50,000) and Govt Girls High School, Chakrala, Mianwali (Rs539,000).
