KOHAT: ANF seizes drugs

Published November 5, 2001

KOHAT, Nov 4: The anti-narcotics force, Kohat, has seized a huge quantity of charas and heroin, which was being smuggled from Khyber Agency to Mirpurkhas, Sindh, in an oil tanker.

An ANF team, led by inspector Asmatuulah, signalled the driver of a suspected oil tanker (LSA-6706) to stop on the Indus Highway near Lachi, but the driver tried to speed away.

The team intercepted the tanker and, after a thorough search, found 100kg of charas and four kilogrammes of heroin hidden in two spare tyres of the tanker. The drugs were seized and the driver was arrested.
