HYDERABAD, Nov 3: The Sindh Professors and Lecturers’ Association (SPLA), at a meeting held here on Saturday at the Sachal Sarmast Arts and Commerce College decided to observe strike in all the colleges and offices on Nov 6 on the call of the Sindh Employees Alliance (SEA).

Professor Liaquat Aziz Solangi presided over the meeting, which was attended by the newly-elected central, regional and district office-bearers of the association.

The meeting condemned what it called the anti-education and anti-teachers decisions of the Sindh government such as the privatisation of educational institutions, self-financing scheme, computer literacy programme, abolition of move over and selection grade in the new pay scales.

The meeting demanded that all anti-education and anti-teachers policies should be withdrawn failing which the responsibility for the consequences will rest on the shoulders of the Sindh government.

ARMY RECRUITMENT: The Army Recruitment Centre, Hyderabad, has announced that the army recruitment team will visit different towns during the current month to recruit the youth for the army.

According to schedule, the recruitment team will visit municipal committee, Sanghar, on Nov 10, Town committee, Sehwan Sharif, on Nov 13, Town committee, Mithi, Nov 15 and town committee union council No. 1, Umerkot, Nov 16.

It has advised the desirous candidates to appear at the above centres on the given dates alongwith their original educational documents including mark sheet, domicile and PRC certificates and one passport size photo graph.
