By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Nov 2: Five members of a nomad family were killed and 10 others injured, three of them seriously, when a truck fell into a ditch near Mach some 80km from here in the early hours of Friday.

All five, including two women and two children, died on the spot, police officials said. The bodies and the injured were admitted to civil hospital. Five remained unhurt.

Twenty members of ill-fated nomad family were shifting to Haji Shahar in a rented truck from Mangochar area of Kalat district due to the approaching winter. When the truck reached Dozan near Mach, it fell into a ditch trying to overtake another truck. The injured driver, Lal Mohammad, has been arrested and investigations were underway.
