NBP close to title
KARACHI, Nov 2: National Bank took another step towards winning their fifth Patron’s Trophy Grade-I cricket title when they restricted Wapda to 145 on the first day of the match at Sheikhupura Stadium Friday.
According to details available, when play was curtailed by 10 overs National Bank had reached 111 for three in their first innings.
Left-arm fast bowler Zahid Saeed and claimed four for 65 after Shabbir Ahmed had taken the first three wickets for 17 runs in an impressive opening spell after Wapda captain Adil Nisar won the toss and chose to bat first.
Kashif Raza, batting at number eight, top-scored with 39 off 45 balls. His innings was spiced with five fours and one six.
National Bank skipper Mushtaq Ahmed, the Test leg-spinner, captured three for 34.
Hanif-ur-Rehman stroked seven fours and a brace of sixes in his 87-ball 62. Naumanullah chipped in with 33 off 45 balls, including six boundaries.
