Remounts win low-goal polo final

RAWALPINDI, Nov 2: Remounts beat Sialkot 8-4 to win the low-goal final of the Brink’s Cup polo tournament at Rawalpindi Polo Club Thursday.

The high goal (0-3 goal) final of the tournament will be played between PBG and Bahawalpur at 3.30 p.m. on Saturday to mark the conclusion of autumn season at Rawalpindi Polo Club, during which six tournaments were played.

Remounts had a clear edge over Sialkot in the low goal (0-3 goal) final of the tournament.

Manzoor Hussain Shah slammed four and Brig. Shabbir Ahmed Kiani three goals for Remounts while Bilal Hashim completed the tally for them.

Agha Bilal scored both the goals for Sialkot who were playing with a two-goal advantage.

Col Ahmed Yar Bandial and Capt. Shaukat Ali Malik were the umpires in the match.

President’s Bodyguards B took third place in the low-goal tournament with a victory over ASC by five goals to one and half goals which, incidentally, was also the handicap advantage of the losers.

Col. Ahmed Yar Bandial scored three goals while sharing one successful strike each were: Capt. Shaukat Ali Malik, Brig. Sikander Ali and Col. Abdul Wahid Ali Khan.
