Young swimmers hailed

By Our Correspondent

KARACHI, Oct 31: Pakistan’s promising swimmers Sana Wahid and Kiran Khan were hailed Wednesday as “motivators” after their excellent performance in Tehran’s Women’s Solidarity Games that concluded earlier this week.

Sana led the Pakistan contingent from the front by capturing a gold and a total haul of 16 medals while Kiran, who turns 12 next week, bagged two gold while picking 12 medals in Pakistan’s 48 medals — three gold, 17 silver and 28 bronze.

In a reception held by the Pakistan Women Amateur Swimming Association (PWASA) to felicitate its young guns achievements, the two were declared as assets.

The two girls were complimented as inspiration to their team members who kept their teammates motivated and competitive on all the three days of the swimming competition.

Other members Mehrunnissa Khan, Rema Qureshi, Amal Piracha, Mahwish Naeed Aziz, Hira Nur, Aisha Altaf Godil, Natasha Riaz and Ayesha Tajwar were also showered with praise.
