Pollock rejoins Warwicks

LONDON, Oct 31: Warwickshire confirmed Wednesday that South Africa captain and all-rounder Shaun Pollock has now signed a one-year contract to rejoin the English county as their overseas player next season.

Pollock agreed terms earlier this week and a signed copy of his contract arrived at Edgbaston last night.

“There was a bit of a delay in signing because I was concerned about the amount of international cricket that I have got ahead of me this winter, but I will probably be able to have a bit of a break before the 2003 World Cup,” explained Pollock.

“I thoroughly enjoyed my previous season with Warwickshire in 1996 and have always wanted to return at some stage.

“I’m a more experienced cricketer now and hopefully I will have a lot more to offer the county.”—AFP
