P&T Gym to face Appolo in title match

LAHORE, Oct 31: P and T Gymkhana entered the final of the LCCA invitational inter-club cricket tournament after defeating Servis Club by two wickets at the LCCA ground Wednesday.

Batting first, Servis Club could collect 166 for six in the allotted 30 overs. Their opener Khurram Niazi was the main scorer with 56 while Javed Butt (29) was the other main contributor. Imran Tahir picked two wickets for 19 runs for P and T Gymkhana.

Despite having the services of Test cricketers Imran Nazir and Saleem Elahi, P and T Gymkhana faced trouble before overhauling the target with five balls to spare.

Imran Nazir scored 23 while Saleem Elahi made 13 runs. Aleem Dar (28), Mushraf Ali (27) and Adil Nisar (25), from lower-order, played key role in target chase.

Servis Club’s Mohammad Rehan caused the maximum damage by claiming three wickets for 35 runs.

In Thursday’s final, P and T Gymkhana will face Appolo Club at the LCCA. Appolo defeated Moghalpura Eleven by five wickets at the Model Town ground.

Moughalpura Eleven: 156 in 28.3 overs (Hafiz Yawar 41, Mantazha Mehdi 40, Tariq Mahmood 23; Babar Safdar 5/33, Raza Khan 3/25, Hafiz 2/10).

Appolo Club: 158-5 in 29.1 overs (Ayub Dogar 58, Maqsood Akbar 36; Fayyaz Anwar 2/50).
