SWABI, Oct 31: The opposition in the district Swabi council staged a walkout against the non-availability of funds for the development projects in their respective areas here on Wednesday.

The opposition led by Jahanzeb Khan told the journalists that 1,000 resolutions were presented in the council by various union council Nazims for the development projects but the lack of funds created deplorable situation for them.

“It is better to tender resignation instead of sitting in the council. We are responsible to the people,” said Jahanzeb Khan.

They opposed the allocation of funds for the office of district Nazim and Naib Nazim, demanding for its reconsideration.

Terming the district budget as an unjust one, they said it was not for the whole district but for a single person who wanted to dominate the whole affairs.

They vowed to fight for the right of the people of district Swabi and against all those who wanted to victimize them.

They said that Pakistan was is a debt ridden country and its leaders had to be careful in spending the public money.
