ISLAMABAD, Oct 31: Indonesia has expressed its solidarity with people and government of Pakistan and supported it’s decision to help in the international campaign against terrorism, said M. Jusuf Kalla, Indonesia’s coordinating minister for people’s welfare, who called on President Gen Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday.
The minister was accompanied by Indonesian Red Cross Chairman Mar’ie Mohamad and Amidhan Shaberah of the Indonesian Council of Ulema.
President Musharraf thanked Indonesia for its support and understanding.
The Indonesian government has pledged to provide medicines and blankets worth half a million dollars for Afghan refugees.
On Tuesday, an Indonesian airforce C-130 brought the first 6-ton consignment. A group of 18 doctors has also been sent by Indonesia to treat the sick and wounded in Afghan refugees camps.
Mr Kalla has been sent by the president of Indonesia with a delegation to hand over the consignment.—APP
