KARACHI, Oct 31: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC-IV), headed by Judge Khan Pervez Chang, on Wednesday awarded a 17-year RI to two activists of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement, Irshad Khan and Nasim Hussain, for committing a dacoity and possessing illicit weapons.
The court, however, exonerated them from the main case of killing constable Liaquat Ali as the prosecution failed to prove its case.
The court awarded 10-year RI to each of them for committing dacoity under Section 392 PPC and a further seven-year RI under Section 13-D. The court also imposed a fine of Rs5,000 on each.
According to the prosecution, Syed Shakir Ali lodged a case with the Samanabad police on Jan 24 stating that four armed men entered his office (Al-Najaf Bus Service) in Ancholi and looted Rs2200 cash from him and Rs200 from bus driver Babar.—PPI
