We will not falter in war on terror: Blair

CARDIFF, Oct 30: British Prime Minister Tony Blair insisted on Tuesday that the fight against terror would go on until the bitter end as he tried to rally public support for military action against Osama bin Laden.

“We will not stop until our mission is complete. We won’t flinch from doing what is necessary to complete it,” Blair told the Welsh Assembly, before jetting off on another diplomatic tour.

“We will not fail and we will do all of this because we believe in our values of justice, tolerance and respect for all regardless of race, religion or creed,” the prime minister added.

Blair also told the assembly in Cardiff that he was now even more convinced that Osama was responsible for the September 11 atrocities on the United States.

“Those responsible were the Al Qaeda network, headed by Osama and that is a fact barely disputed anymore,” he said.

“The intelligence evidence, a flow when I first drew attention to it on October 3, is now a flood confirming guilt,” he added.

After his speech to the Welsh Assembly, Blair was later on Tuesday to set off on a visit to the Middle East.—AFP
