16 killed in Valley

SRINAGAR, Oct 30: Sixteen people were killed in fresh clashes in occupied Kashmir on Monday night and Tuesday.

Indian troops claimed killing three Mujahideen early on Tuesday at Rangwar village, in Kupwara district. A police spokesman said two more freedom fighters were killed in neighbouring Nowsheranar district.

A soldier also died in the fighting, police said.

Two more Mujahideen were killed in Kupwara district by the troops, the spokesman claimed.

An Indian soldier was killed and three others injured during a gunbattle with Mujahideen in the district of Budgam.

Indian army soldiers shot dead four Mujahideen at Hill Kaka, in Poonch district, on Tuesday, police claimed.—AFP
