Asif and Irfan score in final

LAHORE, Oct 30: Divisional Public School Model Town, Lahore, completed the hat trick of titles when they struggled to beat Government Model High School, Model Town, Lahore, 2-0 in the 35th Jafar memorial inter-school hockey tournament at the Ali Institute ground Tuesday.

The winners led the first half 1-0.

Centre-half Asif Balal and outside-left Irfan shared the scoring honours.

Divisional Public School earned an early lead when Asif Balal scored a fine field goal in the 10th minute after receiving an angular pass from left-winger Alley Hasan.

After the resumption, the hard fought contest continued as both sets of forwards launched attacks.

The winners waited till the 50th minute to double the lead when Irfan banged home with a deft push to complete the tally.
