LAHORE, Oct 30: A mediocre card of six-events has been drawn by the Lahore Race Club for the midweek gymkhana races to be held at the racecourse Wednesday.

All events will be contested over the sprinting distance of five furlongs. The first race will start at 12.30 pm.

The races are made up of the animals belonging the division IV and lower divisions of gymkhana class VII comprising ordinary contestants.

The feature event, the division IV & V of the Mangla Plate, a class VII handicap race having 16 runners looks a contest between a quartet of the 16 runners.

They are: the blue roan colt Afnan, the bay gelding Burq Raftar,  the chestnut colt Prince Of Peace and the roan filly Oneeza.  Although all four have not won on their previous outings, their performances are worth giving consideration while picking up a winner in this race. They should fight it out for the top honours. This will be the sixth and last race of the day’s programme.

The other five events seems to be tightly handicapped and  the race-fans may enjoy some close finishes.
