Doctors await NOCs

Published October 31, 2001

HYDERABAD, Oct 30: Around 50 doctors of Sindh who had been selected by the Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia, to serve there are still waiting for an NOC from the Sindh government to proceed to Saudi Arabia.

The doctors told this correspondent that three provinces Punjab, NWFP, and Balochistan had issued NOCs to all the doctors selected by the Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia, but the Sindh government had not granted NOC to about 50 selected doctors and dental surgeons although they had applied in writing through the proper channel ten months back.

They said that these doctors had spent a huge amount on the completion of the process and their visa period was about to expire.

They appealed to the Sindh governor and the health department to grant NOC and ex-country leave to the doctors of Sindh to serve in Saudi Arabia.
