Muslim states should stop supporting US: JIAK

By Our Staff Correspondent

MUZAFFARABAD, Oct 30: Chief of Jamaat-i-Islami Azad Kashmir, Abdur Rashid Turabi on Tuesday said that the US was committing aggression against Afghanistan, and that Muslim states should withdraw their support in this regard.

He said that the US had launched the campaign against Afghanistan hastily which had jeopardized world peace.

The US action has created confrontation between governments and the people particularly in the Muslim states, he said, and added that the situation in Pakistan was more alarming.

The JIAK chief said a stable Pakistan was a sine qua non for the stability of the Muslim world and particularly for the early liberation of Kashmir. He alleged that the military government’s policy was impairing the unity in the country, and demanded that it must be reviewed.

He said some elements in the ranks of the government were widening the gap between the government and the people, which could spell disaster.
