GUJRANWALA, Oct 30: A young industrialist was killed in an accident on the GT Road on Tuesday.
Reports reaching here revealed that Khalid Javed was on his way to Lahore when his car rammed into a tractor-trolley stationed along the road near Sadhoky. He died on his way to a hospital.
Khalid is survived by three minors.
SLAUGHTERED: A man was slaughtered by two eve-teasers over a minor dispute in Audho Rai Eminabad village on Tuesday.
Sanaullah reportedly forbade Madan alias Madhi and Mubashar from teasing a woman. The infuriated youths attacked the man with knives and cut his throat.
Police have registered a case and are investigating.
LOOTED: Dacoits looted cash and valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees and drove away with a motorcycle in four different strikes in and around the city on Tuesday.
Four dacoits made their way into Chaudhry Nabi Ahmad’s factory by scaling the boundary wall in Theri Sansi. They tied the two guards, locked them in a room and took away 100 bags of cotton worth Rs1 million.
Saddar police have registered a case against the accused.
In another incident, two dacoits burst into a rice mill in Sodera Wazirabad, held up owner Muhammad Bashir in his office and decamped with Rs200,000 in cash and a licensed pistol. They also beat him on resistance.
Three robbers entered the house of Tariq Mahmood in Alipur Chattha village. They collected Rs4,500 in cash, 10 tolas of gold jewellery and other valuables and escaped after leaving the inmates locked.
Two bandits snatched cash, gold chain and wrist watch from Muhammad Arif on the Sheikhupura Road. They also drove away with his two-wheeler.
ACQUITTED: Three rapists were acquitted by an additional district and sessions judge here on Tuesday. According to the prosecution, Abdul Majid, Rafiq and Manzoor Ahmad were booked by the Baghbanpura police for raping a girl some two years ago.
