Water scheme completed

KARAK, Oct 29: The district Nazim Karak, Mohammad Sharif Khattak, on Monday formally inaugurated a water supply scheme, completed at a cost of Rs 31,74,000.

The scheme will provide potable water to some two thousand dwellers of Tappi and Khoni Algadi, The opening ceremony was attended by DCO Karak, Naib Nazim Tehsil Karak, Tehsil Municipal Administrator, Nazims of South and North wards (Karak city), Director Works and Services, and a large number of notables of the area.

Speaking on the occasion, the district Nazim Mohammad Sharif Khattak said that he will serve the people and solve their problems. He said that he will try his level best to come up to the expectations of the people for which purpose the people have elected him.

He said that three projects have been recommended to federal government including provision of drinking water to Karak city from Zibi Dam, provision of Sui gas to district Karak and installation of 200 tubewells in different parts of the district. Similarly, installation of two hundred hand pumps has also been recommended.

He said that with the approval as well as completion of these schemes, the drinking water problem in district would be solved permanently. Mr Sharif Khattak said that with the support of elected Nazims of the area, he will render every sacrifice for the attainment of district’s rights. He said that due representation would be given to all parts of the district while chalking out development strategy.
