KARACHI, Oct 27: KRL skipper Ali Naqvi hit 137 to help his side closed the first day of the Patron’s Trophy Grade-I match against Allied Bank at Saga Ground (Sialkot) in commanding position Saturday.

KRL reached 285 for four after Allied Bank captain Aqib Javed chose to field first. Test reject Misbah-ul-Haq (50 off 144 balls, seven fours) was at the crease with Saeed bin Nasir (1).

Test discard Ali Naqvi hammered 20 fours and one six in his 208-ball. Naqvi and left-hander Saeed Anwar Junior repaired the loss of Mohammad Ramzan, without a run on the board, by putting on 176 for the second wicket in 37 overs.

Saeed stroked 10 fours and faced 118 deliveries.

Aqib was easily the pick of Allied Bank bowlers with two for 27 in 15 overs.
