Wapda dominate eventful day
KARACHI, Oct 27: Wapda dominated an eventful opening day of the Patron’s Trophy Grade-I tie against Sui Gas at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad Saturday.
After being restricted to 157 in their first innings, Wapda hit back strongly to reduce Sui Gas to 101 for seven at stumps, according to details available here.
Kashif Rasheed top-scored with 68 after Wapda skipper Adil Nisar elected to bat first. Apart from Kashif, who faced 113 balls during his 152-minute stay, tailender Sarfraz Ahmed contributed an undefeated 48 off just 22 deliveries in 35 minutes.
Sui Gas pace trio of Wasim Khan (five for 53), Abdur Rauf (three for 44) and Azhar Abbas (two for 52) shared the wickets.
When Sui Gas batted, the main damage was done by opening bowlers Kashif Raza (three for 29) and Waqas Ahmed (three for 36).
