KARACHI: UC Nazim gets bail in forgery case

KARACHI, Oct 26: An additional district and sessions judge, West, Farooq Ali Channa, granted on Friday anticipatory bail to a Nazim in a forgery case.

The Nazim of Union Council No 5, Haji Mohammed Alauddin, who was booked for producing forged documents for his election, was given pre-arrest bail in the sum of Rs50,000.

The case against the Nazim and his rival candidate, Shamsul Hasan, was registered on Sept 27 on the complaint of the senior civil judge, West, Mohsin Raza, for submitting forged certificates with their nomination papers.

Shamsul Hasan was arrested following the registration of the case by the City Courts police, but Alauddin, elected from the Machchar Colony area, remained “untraceable.”

ACQUITTED: An additional district and sessions judge, Central acquitted three workers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in a case pertaining to several charges, including murder, attempt to murder and attack on a police party.

The judge acquitted the three accused, Amirullah, Nadir Shah and Ashfaq Chief alias Tailee, of all charges as the prosecution could not bring on record incriminating evidence against them.

The three Muttahida workers were booked in the case in 1995 by the Liaquatabad police.
