PESHAWAR, Oct 24: Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Mulla Abdul Salam Zaeef left here for Kabul on Wednesday.
A border official at Torkham told Dawn that Zaeef, accompanied by two other Taliban officials, drove into Afghanistan in the evening.
A Taliban diplomat in Peshawar said he did not know how long would the ambassador stay in Kabul but denied he had gone to Kabul to consult senior Taliban leaders.
“He has some personal engagements to take care of,” Maulvi Najibulla, Taliban’s consul-general in Peshawar, said.
