SYDNEY, Oct 24: Australian Cathy Freeman will resume training next week after a year off following her 400-metre gold medal at the Sydney Olympics.
Her target is next year’s Manchester Commonwealth Games and Freeman believes she can do even better than she did in Sydney.
“There is a time and a place for everything,” Freeman said Wednesday.
“I can still improve and I can’t neglect myself this opportunity of finding out how fast I can go.”
Freeman, 28, is expected to face strong opposition in the 400 metres from British runner Katharine Merry, who was third behind her in Sydney.—AFP
