LAHORE, Oct 24: A goal by inside-right Mohammad Asif guided Government High School Kacha Pacca, Kasur, to earn a hard fought 1-0 win against Government High School, Pindi Bhattian, in the 35th Jafar Memorial Inter-School hockey championship at the Ali Institute ground Wednesday.

After playing a goalless first half, Mohammad Asif struck the match winner in the 51st minute.

Three goals by inside-right Abdur Rahman helped Government High School Shakargarh to thrash Beaconhouse School Greens 6-0 after taking 4-0 lead at the interval.

Abdur Rahman netted in the 5th, 10th and 25th minutes. Centre-forward Nasir Liaqat banged home two goals in the 48th and 49th minute while inside-left Balal Rafique added one goal in the 8th minute.

COACHING COURSE: Ten coaches from Pakistan will attend the final phase of the FIH high profile coaching course to be held at Rotterdam, Holland, side-by-side the 23rd Champions Trophy scheduled for Nov 3 to 11.

Those who will attend the high profile course from Pakistan are Shahnaz Sheikh, Tahir Zaman, Col. Saeed, Khawaja Junaid, Samiullah, Col. Rauf, Qamar Ibraheem, Iftikhar Syed, Khawaja Awais and Asif Bajwa

From Pakistan, former Olympian Islahuddin and international player SA Baghdadi are included in the technical committee of the Champions Trophy. One umpire Rashid Butt from Pakistan is also included in the Panel of Umpires.
